Request for a new device using a catalog article

If you need for your project a device that exists not yet in the MDM, you can make a request for a new device entering data and documents / URLs manually. VESCON checks the data quality of new devices in the workflow of “requests for new devices“. If data do not fulfill the requirements, the request will be sent back to the sender for the purpose of revision.

With the intention to simplify this workflow and to improve data quality it is possible to request a new MDM device directly using catalog articles provided by manufacturers with the status "premium" (displayed by a green point).

Benefits for all MDM users:

The quality of catalog article data is guaranteed because they are provided directly by the manufacturers. Catalog data can be imported anytime again so that they are always latest.

By the excel interface manufacturers data can be made available without redundancies and without multiple acquisition directly from the commercial or technical data sources.

If documents or URLs are uploaded, they will be automatically updatet in the MDM, if the data sources are updated.

The workflow "request for new devices" is simplified during application, quality check, approval and final check by the manufacturers, and will so be expedited.

Catalog articles are only available and free of charge for manufacturers with the status "premium" (displayed by a green point).

Procedure:

1.Go to the tab "View" and there to "Component manufacturers and corresponding data".

2.Filter and mark in the left part of the window the manufacturer and open the tab "Catalog articles".

3.Filter and mark in the grid the catalog article which you want to assemble to a MDM device.

4.Click in the right register on the tab  "Requests / Tasks" and on the button "Request for new device""

5.The required data including documents / URLs are committed, only the structure element must be selected and a remark concerning the request must be entered. (see also Request_new_device , General information on editing tasks , Guideline for the request for new devices ).
