Change device in device group (also conversely)

With this feature a device can be transformed in a device group

or

a device group can be transformed in a device. Attention! By doing so the device list "Consists of" gets lost!

 

Creating a device group means that it´s  possible to assign to the (major-) device other MDM devices or free edited devices.

Functions and features of device groups are identically equal to devices (excepting requests / workflow).

Device groups can be displayed in MDM parts lists resolved into their components.

 

Transforming devices into device groups:

 

1.Open the device by double click and click on the buttons "Edit on" and "Change device into device group"

2.Click on the registers "Consists of" and "Device group" and the buttons "Edit on" and "Add device" or "Create position"

"Add device" opens the selection dialogue for MDM devices as usual

"Create position" opens new table rows which allow to create new unrestricted positions / components / devices (not yet present in the MDM) Attention! Device groups must contain at least two components!

3.Confirm all dialogues "Save changes". Advice: By the quick filter "Filter device group"
