The ribbons

Back  Home  Next

The user interfache of the material data manager is designed to fit the Microsoft Office 2010 products. Operating via so-called ribbons which replace the former icon bars is context-related / function-oriented. Functions available for a selected element can be accessed quickly in the ribbon.

In many of the views several different context areas are available. The functions of these different areas are structured around their own context-related tabs, which are shown above the usual ribbon tabs. If in the current view several different basic elements are existing (as in the screenshots “Structure nodes” and “Approved devices”) several context-related tabs will be displayed. The respective tabs contain the functions related to the context.

After a click on the context the tab changes automatically.

If you press the <Strg>- or <Ctrl> key when clicking on a different view (e.g. “Devices”, “Structure view”, “Tasks”), a new, separate window will be opened where you can select your own data language or an OEM different from the one in the first window. The new window is independent.
