Parts lists

In the MDM parts lists can be imported, displayed and edited from the following systems:

•EPLAN Electric P8

•Excel

In order to import parts lists from the CAD application EPLAN it is necessary to activate the interface CAD - MDM. This import runs automaticaly -  excel parts list must be imported by hand.

A detailed description how to proceed and a step-by-step instruction can be found in Quick guide for suppliers pages 7-18.

After the import the parts list will be checked by MDM Id, manufacturer, order number and article / type - trying to find the corresponding MDM device (see also Parts list check  ).

The user will be informed about the process of import of an excel parts list by e-mail. In case of an import from the CAD applications RUPLAN or Eplan no message will be generated.

After the import the assignment of the imported CAD devices to the MDM devices runs automatically  - see also Parts list check. It is possible to start the assignment later again by hand.

The devices can be displayed as well as a parts list or as an order list.

An example file of an excel import can be called up by the button "Save import template".

By double click the detail dialogue for editing the attributes of the parts list will be displayed.

Via the status “Valid” you can determine if the item list is supposed to be considered in the evaluations.

A "Frozen" parts list will not be overrided by a parts list which is more up to date.

By the attributes "name", "project", "project number", "factory", "plant number", "plant category" and "inventory number" the discription of the parts list will be generated.

The parts list can be also classified by the Options “Optional mechanic”, “Optional electric”, “Optional fluid”.

The following properties mean:

o        # of entries: number of entries (rows) in the imported parts / order list

o        Σ devices: number of different devices (manufacturer / order number)

o        # not approved: number of not approved entries (rows)

o        Σ not approved: number of different devices (manufacturer / order number) which are not approved

o        # invalid count: number of entries (rows) containing an invalid count (import)

o        # w/o assignment: number of entries (rows) without corresponding MDM Id

o        Σ unknown manufacturers: number of different manufacturers which are not found in MDM

o        # empty order number: number of entries (rows) without order number (import)

The imported item lists can be checked in the ribbon area “Item lists – Main“ via the functions  “Compare with presently approved components“ and “Compare with stored status“. The results of the check are displayed in a result list. Data records not approved are specifically marked.

The device list can be displayed with standard or high resolution as well as parts list or as order list. If stored statuses exist approvals can be counter-checked. The parts lists entries can be recalled from the server by the button " parts lists entries recall".

Attention! In the Resolved view specific columns are no longer consistent represented. These are grayed out and the contents are empty. Column Consolidated manufacturers and ordernumber have no content at assembly positions.

An Excel template is available by the button "store template"

The status of approvals is displayed in a separate column.

For reading and editing the items lists specific authorizations are required.
