Interface to CAD system EPLAN Electric P8
The EPLAN plugin is available in the MDM folder (…MDM\PlugIns\Eplan2). The most important topics are: •Taking over the MDM contents into the EPLAN default property fields of the project article are configurable (default setting: only the MDM Id and the plug in version are written into the “free attributes” of the EPLAN Electric P8 article). •"Look & Feel" of dialogues and handling in the line with EPLAN •Optimized automatic mapping EPLAN article <-> MDM device •Writing back of complete parts lists into the MDM •Automatic deployment of the EPLAN project (PDF file) in the MDM
Data management - principle functionality In principle, the data exchange between MDM and EPLAN Electric P8 works as follows: •EPLAN articles can be linked with a MDM device (only in the project) by writing the MDM Id into the property 91 (Property 22147_[91]). This linking operates automatically if the order number and the manufacturer (as well as the alternative spellings of manufacturers defined in the MDM) are identical. Notations defined by the user are configurable and can be saved locally. •The contents of an MDM record needed for parts lists can be entered into the EPLAN article (only in the project- depending on the configuration). The EPLAN article master data will not be modified! •With intent to check the material approvals a MDM structure element is assigned to the EPLAN project. This assignement is saved in the EPLAN project properties and will be displayed on the cover sheet. •An article preselection scheme is generated automatically (approved articles). •Before running reports EPLAN articles can be matched anew with the MDM with intent to apply any changes of MDM data automatically. •The steps of generating a parts list are the following: Requirements: •Installation/Setup (Functionality available in versions 2.3, 2.4 (32bit + 64bit) ,2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) •Parts list form according to the specifications of the OEM •Licence EADN: Application 0068 for EPLAN Electric P8 (MDM interface)
